Frequently Asked Questions

What is a good CRS score?

Recent Express Entry draws have had cut-off scores between 470-520. A score above 500 is considered strong, while scores above 470 have good chances in most draws. Provincial nominations (600 points) virtually guarantee an invitation.

How often are CRS draws held?

IRCC typically holds Express Entry draws every 2-3 weeks, but this can vary. There are different draw types: all-program draws, Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) only draws, and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draws.

Can I improve my CRS score after submission?

Yes, you can update your Express Entry profile with improved language test scores, additional work experience, new education credentials, or a provincial nomination. Your CRS score will be recalculated automatically.

How long is my CRS score valid?

Your Express Entry profile is valid for 12 months. If you don't receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) within 12 months, you can recreate your profile. Your CRS score may change if your circumstances change (like turning a year older).
